ABOUT THE GAME
About Chainfall
Chainfall is a turn-based falling-gem puzzle. Place coloured pairs on a six-column, eight-row board, clear groups of four, and arrange the board so one clear sets off the next. There is no falling timer, so every drop is yours to plan.
How to play
- Check the pair you are holding and the two pairs coming next, shown above the board.
- Move the pair to a column and rotate it to choose how the two gems land.
- Drop it. Four or more gems of one colour touching side by side or top to bottom clear from the board.
- Gems above a cleared space fall down. If they form a new group of four, it clears too, as the next link in the chain.
- The run ends when there is no room for the next pair. A Pulse clears the bottom row to make space.
Scoring and pulses
- Each cleared gem scores 10 points, multiplied by its step in the chain: gems in the second step of a chain are worth 20 each, the third step 30, and so on.
- Clearing every gem from the board adds a 250-point bonus.
- You start with one Pulse. Every chain of two or more steps earns another, up to a maximum of three.
- Your personal best score is shown beside the board.
Colours get busier
- Pairs use three colours at first, a fourth colour after 12 drops and a fifth after 30.
- Every colour also has its own symbol (● ◆ ▲ ✦ ■), so you never have to rely on colour alone.
Controls
- Keyboard: ← and → move the pair, ↑ rotates it and Space drops it.
- Touch or mouse: tap a column or use the ← and → buttons, then Rotate and Drop.
- Pulse and New run are buttons below and above the board.
